Robotics is not only the future, it is also the present. By familiarizing students with programming, sensors, and automation, they hone critical computational thinking skills needed to succeed in both the 21st century’s workforce and in everyday life.
Beyond science and engineering principles, VEX Robotics solutions encourage creativity, teamwork, leadership, passion, and problem-solving among groups. That’s why VEX is committed to advancing robotics education as leaders in STEM, making it easy to implement and being your partner along the way!
Target age: 14-18
Length: 12-16 sessions, 1.5 hours each
Digital Devices: Tablets or Laptop and VEX EXP set
Description
in this course, students are introduced to VEX EXP, Real Robots with the latest technology, sensors, and metal construction to become familiar with STEM concepts. Real Learning with project-based lessons that make students active participants in their learning. Students can experience unlimited robotic possibilities that come to life.
Learning Objectives
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Apply building directions to create a robot to complete a specific task.
- Decompose problems into smaller components through systematic analysis, using constructs such as procedures, modules, and/or objects.
- Differentiate between the movements by the robot to drive forward, drive in reverse, turn left, turn right, and wait.
- Identify the positive effects robotics has had on the medical field.
