TERMS AND CONDITIONS
As the legal parent and/or guardian of the Child (referred to as “Parent,” “I,” or “me”), You give your consent for your Child to participate in the activities and programs (the “Program(s)”) organized by the STEMA Learning Center Location, including all related events.
Program Classification:
- Regular class/Monthly Membership:
The membership program is offered once a week or twice a week, depending on the parent’s enrollment. Each session is one hour long.
Payment terms:
After completing the online purchase and making payment in full, the subscription plan will begin immediately and will be valid for one month. The subscription plan will automatically be renewed every month and charged to the customer’s credit card on file.
Rescheduling Policy:
To reschedule a session, notice must be provided at least 12 hours in advance. Rescheduled sessions must be completed within 14 days of the original class date.
If an individual session of the Program must be cancelled due to a school closure unrelated to COVID-19 (e.g., weather-related, “snow day”), STEMA Learning Center will provide a make-up class. No credit or refund will be offered in this case.
Cancellation Policy:
Fourteen (14) days’ written notice is required for cancellation of the subscription plan. Memberships may be frozen for up to three (3) months total within a calendar year.
- Camps
The camp program is described as spring camp, summer camp, winter camp or PD Day camp, depending on the parent’s enrollment.
Payment terms:
The program price is established at the time of registration, and the Parent agrees to pay the full amount as specified during registration.
Cancellation & Refund Policy:
Before 3 Weeks: Cancellations made at least 3 weeks before the camp start date are eligible for a full refund.
Before 2 Weeks: Cancellations made between 2 and 3 weeks before the camp start date will receive a full refund minus a $50 administrative fee.
Within 14 Days: No refunds will be issued for cancellations made within 14 days of the camp start date.
Once Camp Starts: No refunds will be issued after the camp has begun.
Transfer Option: Depending on availability, you may have the option to transfer your registration to a different camp session
Other Policies
Photo, Image and Video Policy:
By enrolling in our program, you grant STEMA Learning Center permission to use photographs, videos, and other media of your child taken during program activities for educational and promotional purposes, including on our website and social media platforms. You understand that your child’s name will not be published without any explicit written consent. STEMA Learning Center also reserves the right to share student work publicly for marketing and educational purposes.
Video Surveillance:
You understand and agree that STEMA Learning Center may utilize video surveillance equipment to monitor both the interior and exterior areas of its premises 24/7. By participating in the Program(s), You acknowledge that both your child and You may be recorded under this video surveillance. However, no video surveillance will be conducted within the bathrooms.
Attendance policy:
You understand and agree to deliver the Child directly to STEMA Learning Center’s staff member and do not remove the Child from STEMA Learning Center premises without direct communication with, and acknowledgement from, a staff member. Parents or guardians are welcome but not obligated to remain on the premises during a student’s scheduled session. Students will only be allowed to leave the facility when accompanied by an authorized parent or guardian.
Code of Conduct & Anti-Bullying Policy
By enrolling in STEMA Learning Center’s Program(s), you agree that your child must follow the Code of Conduct to ensure a safe and positive learning environment. This includes respecting instructors, peers, and property, following instructions, and using appropriate language and behaviour.
Anti-Bullying Policy: STEMA has a zero-tolerance policy for bullying, including:
- Verbal (name-calling, insults, offensive jokes).
- Physical (pushing, hitting, unwanted contact).
- Cyberbullying (spreading harmful content, online harassment).
- Exclusion or intimidation (isolating or threatening others).
Violations will result in disciplinary actions such as verbal/written warnings, suspension, or dismissal.
Disciplinary Actions & No Refund Policy
Failure to comply may lead to warnings, suspension, or permanent dismissal. If dismissed, no refunds will be issued. By enrolling, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
Health:
We will notify the parent/guardian when the child feels ill or needs medical attention. In case we cannot contact the parent/guardian by phone. At the same time the child needs immediate help, YOU hereby grant permission for us to call a physician, take the child to the nearest emergency center, call an ambulance, or use the services of a medical facility. If an emergency arises, you agree that any cost incurred for such services shall be your sole responsibility.
Informed consent and assumption of risk
You confirm and warrant to STEMA Learning Center that you have disclosed all accurate and complete information requested related to the child, including the child’s age and any behavioural, physical, or mental health conditions. The child does not have any behavioural, physical (including major allergies) or mental health conditions that could affect his or her ability to participate in the activity or that would involve health or safety risks to other participants, the public, any third party or him/herself. If any such conditions exist, you waive any claims against STEMA Learning Center arising in respect of such conditions. To the extent you or STEMA Learning Center determine any such behavioural, physical or health conditions of the child warrant it, then you will retain, at your own cost, an attendant, caregiver, or support person (the “Caregiver”) to always accompany the child during the Activity, including during breaks in the Activity. You will notify us of the name of the Caregiver prior to the Activity commencing.
You understand that STEMA Learning Center may rely upon such information, and you confirm that such information is accurate and complete. you understand that failure to disclose necessary or relevant information related to the child, including any such behavioural, physical, or mental conditions, may result in the immediate withdrawal of the child from the Activity.
The activities offered as part of the program include but are not limited to the use of professional tools, materials, and machinery for designing, modelling, and constructing different projects. While these activities and projects offer educational and enjoyment benefits to the student, such as developing critical thinking, problem-solving, logical, communication skills, and self-confidence, there are risks associated with them. Although STEMA Learning Center attempts to minimize the risks, as the parent/guardian, YOU understand and agree that there are possible injuries, including but not limited to physical injury. YOU consent to the student’s participation despite such risks.
You acknowledges and agrees that STEMA Learning Center cannot guarantee the results or effectiveness of any of the services rendered or to be rendered. Instead, services shall be executed in a professional manner and accordance with good industry and education practices. Best efforts will be made, but no results are promised.
Liability Release:
You hereby waive, release, and discharge STEMA Learning Center, its owners, employees, agents, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, damages, costs, or liabilities arising from your child’s participation in the program, including personal injury, property damage, or death.
You agree not to sue and understand that if you or your successors file a claim contrary to this agreement, we will be responsible for all legal fees incurred by STEMA Learning Center unless they are found guilty of willful negligence.
This agreement represents the full understanding between the parties and applies to all past, present, and future claims, whether known or unknown. It covers all types of damages, including compensatory, contractual, statutory, and warranty-related losses. By signing, you acknowledge that you fully understand and accept these terms.
Acknowledgment and Certification:
By signing this agreement, you confirm and warrant that, you
(a) are the parent or legal guardian of the Child and have full authority to sign this Agreement.
(b) have had sufficient time to review this Agreement and have read it in its entirety.
(c) fully understand and voluntarily accept all terms outlined in this Agreement.
(d) are signing this Agreement willingly, without any pressure or obligation.
(e) have not been influenced or misled by any statements or actions of STEMA Learning Center
(f) possess the mental competency and legal capacity to enter into this Agreement on behalf of yourself and your Child.
(g) are over the age of 18.
